    Caribbean Marine Surveyors Limited have a 26' Scarab fitted with a 200hp Evinrude Etcch outboard for a fast response to any yacht in distress. Our office is located on the second floor of a concrete building at Nanny Cay Marina, Tortola, with full generator backup. We do not have any links with any boat yard, repairer, charter company.  We are approved by the Barbados Maritime Authority to carry out inspections for yachts registered in Barbados. We are approved by the UK Maritime Coastguard Agency to carry out inspections on Small Commercial Vessels (SCV). We are approved by the International Institute of Marine surveying (IIMS), MECAL, BVI Government and RYA for SCV inspections. We are approved by Transport Canada to carry out tonnage inspections. We are approved by the UK Government and the BVI government to carry out Tonnage Measurements up to 24 meters load line. We are approved by MECAL and the BVI Government to carry out stability testing.

Meet our Staff.

W. J. Bailey, AMS; MIIMS; IAMI; MECAL Principal Surveyor is an Accredited Surveyor with the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS) AMS 461, a member of the International Association of Marine Investigators #2601 and a Member of the International Institute of Marine Surveying #993. MECAL A1 &C3. He has been sailing for over 50 years and lived in the BVI for over 22 years.

Benson Baker AMS; MECAL Staff Surveyor is an Accredited Surveyor with the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS) AMS1078. MECAL A2 & C2. USCG 50 ton Master. Owns and lives on a Nicholson 31. Experienced delivery skipper with about 25,000 blue water miles. Benson has worked for Caribbean Marine Surveyors since May 2005.

Nicole McLoughlin AMS; IAMI; MECAL Staff Surveyor is an Accredited Surveyor with the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS) AMS1037. Nicole is a Graduate of the Chapman School of Seamanship in Yacht & Small Craft Surveying. Nicole has worked in Ontario as a surveyor for the past 6 years and has extensive experience on Sail Training vessels and Tall Ships.

Lenroy Quashie is our very able Office Manager. Lenroy is a Caribbean native and plays tennis at a semi-professional level. Lenroy has recently completed a degree in Accounting at the University of West Indies.

P. W. Bailey (the old bailey) has been surveying for over 50 years and lived in the BVI for over 35 years. Now retired and in his 83st year. Peter helps out in the office when needed. He still crews on Second Nature as mainsheet hand in local races

Past Employees. Brett Stillman worked as a staff surveyor for five years, earned a diploma in Marine Surveying (level 2) and is seeking work in Australia. Jon Clayton worked part time as Staff Surveyor and has now qualified as a “Mud Wrangler” in the oil industry. Neil Bailes worked for four years as a Staff Surveyor before moving to USA . We wish all our previous employees and their families well. Karl Prosser worked as a Staff Surveyor for three years before he died of cancer, he was a good friend and colleague.
